This couple rented this country house for a strangely low price, but when they went inside and saw what was happening, horror ran through their bodies.

In recent months, their life in the city had become too stressful. Work, endless meetings, phone calls, and noisy streets had exhausted the couple.
One day, while sitting on the balcony, the woman said in a tired voice:

— We need a few days of rest… just away from the city.

The man agreed. They decided to go out to the countryside for a few days — away from people, noise, and responsibilities, to relax and regain strength.

That day they began searching for country houses online. They looked through different listings, but they were either too expensive or very far away.

Suddenly, one listing caught their attention: an old large mansion in nature, and the most surprising — the price was extremely low.

— Is this not a joke? — the woman asked in surprise.

But the price was so affordable that they did not hesitate for long. They called the provided phone number. A calm male voice answered. He said the house was available and they could come right away.

Without even meeting the owner, the couple transferred the money online to his card and set off for the house.

A few hours later, they had already arrived.
The house stood in the middle of an open space. The old brick walls were covered in thick green ivy, most of the windows were broken, and part of the roof had collapsed. There was not a single house around. No cars, no people.

They stopped in front of the house. 

— Don’t you think this is a little strange?.. — the woman said quietly.

The man looked around. Indeed, there was no movement around. Not even birds could be heard.

— Probably just an old house, — he tried to reassure her. — The main thing is, it will be quiet here.

Although a slight unease arose in them, they decided to ignore it and walked in happily. They opened the house door, and seeing what was happening inside, a shiver ran through their bodies — both were shocked at the same time.

Inside the house, there was a heavy, damp smell. At first, they thought it was just the smell of an old house, but when they took a few steps forward — they were literally paralyzed with fear.

On the living room floor lay several bodies.

Two were by the table, one under the window. Their clothes were covered in dust, faces pale, and it seemed they had been lying there for quite a long time.

The woman screamed and stepped back toward the door.

— We need to get out of here… right now, — she said, panting.

A few minutes later, they were already standing in the houseyard waiting. The wind stirred the dry grass, and the mansion stood silently behind them — more ominous than ever.

About twenty minutes later, two police cars arrived.

First, the officers escorted the couple out of the house, then went inside to inspect the premises. Soon, the worst was confirmed: there were indeed three bodies in the house.

The area was immediately cordoned off with tape, and investigators and forensic experts arrived on the scene.

The camera clearly captured a man withdrawing money. He wore a cap, but his face was visible enough.

A few days later, an employee at a store in a small town recognized him. He remembered that this man often came there and was always alone.

The police quickly located his residence.

At night, a special team surrounded the apartment.

When they broke in, the man tried to escape through a window, but the police managed to apprehend him on the spot.

During the investigation, the horrifying truth emerged.

This man had posted fake ads online for very cheap mansions, invited people there, and then somehow robbed them. In some cases, it ended in tragedy.

The bodies found in the house belonged precisely to the people who had previously come to rent that same mansion.

Fortunately, this time the couple entered the house in time and immediately called the police, which allowed the whole story to be uncovered.

The man was sentenced to a long prison term.

And the couple could not recover for a long time or forget the day they had simply decided to rest in the countryside… and accidentally became involved in a story that could have had irreversible consequences.
