The sergeant noticed a girl with a pink backpack standing in the middle of the street in the rain, but when she saw the police officer, she dropped the bag and ran away 

The police sergeant was patrolling the city center, just as he had done for many years. That evening, the streets were emptier than usual due to the relentless rain. The headlights of the patrol car briefly lit up the silhouettes of the few pedestrians hurrying home under their umbrellas.

He drove slowly, carefully scanning the surroundings. His experience told him: rainy nights often bring something unexpected.

At an intersection, he noticed something strange — a little girl was standing completely alone in the middle of the road, motionless in the pouring rain, like a forgotten toy. Her thin shoulders were covered by a gray raincoat, and a small pink backpack hung from her back.

The sergeant immediately grew suspicious, slowed down, and pulled over.

— Little girl! — he called out, opening the door and stepping out into the rain.

His voice echoed loudly in the silent street. The girl flinched, turned around, looked at the officer — and suddenly took off running.

— Stop! — shouted the sergeant, dashing after her.

He saw her rip the backpack off her shoulders and toss it onto the wet asphalt, then turn into a dark alley and disappear.

Running up, the sergeant bent down and picked up the backpack. The fabric was soaked through, but it felt heavy. Something was inside…

Inside were several neatly wrapped bundles — all in clear plastic bags. He immediately recognized what it was: amphetamine, packed into small “doses” for distribution.

But that wasn’t all. In a separate bag, there was a stack of fake passports with photos of different children, along with several SIM cards and a USB drive.

A chill ran down his spine. Drug trafficking combined with forged child documents? This was far more serious than a typical street-level case.

He quickly looked around, but the girl was gone.

Clutching the backpack tightly, the sergeant realized he had accidentally stumbled upon something far darker and more dangerous than just a child caught in the rain.
