Born in Esmeraldas, in the northern part of Ecuador, Marco Angulo made his professional debut in 2021 with Independiente del Valle, where he won the national championship at the end of his first season, having played 45 matches.

He was then transferred to FC Cincinnati in MLS for nearly 3 million dollars, signing a contract until 2025. However, he faced difficulties in the United States, appearing in only 8 matches, which led to him being loaned to LDU Quito last March.

On the international stage, he earned two caps with the Ecuadorian national team. The Ecuadorian Football Federation paid tribute to Marco Angulo in a statement, expressing their deep sadness following his death: “The Ecuadorian Football Federation wishes to express its sincerest sadness following the passing of Marco Angulo.

As a player for La Tri, he always defended the colors of our country with talent and dedication on every occasion. Marco was not only an exceptional player, but also a great teammate.
