Police cars surrounded the man to arrest him, but what his son said at the last moment shocked even the police.

Rain poured heavily over the entire city. A few seconds later, several cars suddenly stopped, surrounding a tall man with tattoos. Red and blue lights flashed around him.

— Hands up! You have nowhere to run! — shouted one of the officers loudly through the loudspeaker.

The man did not run. He simply stood in the rain, breathing calmly, and his son stood beside him. The police approached very cautiously. One of them loudly stated:

— You are under arrest for hacking the government database, damaging several secret servers, and transferring large sums of money. We already know that it was you who hacked most of the city’s cameras in the dead of night. 

The other officers quickly surrounded them. The man froze for a moment, then gently placed his hand on his son’s shoulder.

In reality, everything had started a few hours earlier. The man was a former programmer who had once worked on security systems. That night, he had secretly accessed the city’s servers, not to steal money, but to uncover a very dangerous case. He had discovered data showing that someone was planning a major explosion in the city.

But when he began copying this data, the system triggered an alert, and the police quickly found him. The man did not resist and decided to surrender.

However, just as the police were about to put handcuffs on him and take him away, the child said something at the last moment that revealed a secret and shocked the police.

— Don’t take him… — said the boy. — He was trying to stop the explosion. I saw the map on his tablet. The explosion was supposed to happen tonight… right in the main police building.

For a few seconds, there was silence.

The police were petrified.

— What did you say… — whispered one of them.

The boy continued:

— The people you are protecting… they were the ones who organized this. This man was trying to preserve evidence to show it to you.

The police looked at each other. One of them quickly grabbed the man’s bag and opened the laptop.

A few seconds later, his face went pale.

— Damn… you need to see this.

On the screen was a map with marked locations of planted explosives.

And one of these locations — it was exactly the building where they themselves worked.

The police slowly lowered their weapons.

Their chief looked silently at the man for a moment… then said:

— Take the handcuffs off him.

The rain continued to pour.

The man still stood silently, and the little boy was beside him.

And that night, the police realized something terrible: if that child hadn’t spoken at that moment… it might already have been too late in the city.
