Amelia, an elderly mother, desperately wanted to meet her newborn grandson. However, when her son Mark refused to pick her up, she decided to walk to his house, despite her old age and the use of a walker. This arduous journey took hours, but Amelia persisted, hoping to finally meet the child she had been waiting for. However, when she arrived at her son’s house, he refused to let her in, and a shocking scene unfolded.

On the phone, Mark had explained that he was too busy with errands for his wife, Camilla, and the guests coming over. He promised they would set another time for her to see her grandson. Amelia, though understanding of the situation, insisted, but Mark remained firm and ended the conversation quickly. The idea of walking to his house then crossed Amelia’s mind. Although it was difficult, she was determined.

She grabbed her walker, packed a bag with a few things, and set off. The walk was slow and tiring, but after several breaks and hours of walking, Amelia finally arrived at her son’s house. She hoped to see Mark and her grandson, but he reacted in a surprising and shocking manner.

Mark, visibly disturbed, looked at her and asked what she was doing there without even inviting her inside. He brusquely pushed her away and told her she couldn’t come in, claiming he had told her to come another day. Amelia, exhausted from her long journey, tried to explain, but Mark abruptly dismissed her and ordered her to leave, not caring about her condition. He slammed the door in her face.

Accused of pain and sadness, she decided not to press further. Before leaving, she left a package at the door, hoping Mark would find it later. On the way back, Amelia was fortunate that a neighbor saw her and drove her home. She was exhausted, her legs swollen and painful. Meanwhile, Mark was busy with his guests. But upon reconsidering the situation, he felt a strong sense of guilt. When he found the package his mother had left, he read a note that simply said, “From Grandma.” Opening the bag, he found his childhood toys, which were of great sentimental value to him, despite their simplicity. This discovery brought tears to his eyes.

His wife, Camilla, seeing his distress, became concerned, and Mark confessed what he had done: he had been ashamed of his humble past and had distanced himself from his family to live a more opulent life. He felt horrible for treating his mother this way. After being comforted by Camilla, Mark decided to go and apologize to Amelia.

Returning to her house, he found her lying on the couch with her legs wrapped. He approached her gently, woke her up, and helped her stand. He took her to her bedroom, cared for her legs, and sincerely apologized for his behavior. Amelia, moved, forgave him, though she understood that he had been ashamed of his past. After their conversation, they spent a pleasant time together, and the next day, Mark finally took his mother to his house to meet her grandson.

Camilla, touched by the situation, also apologized. The family spent a wonderful day together, and Mark suggested that his mother move in with them so that she would never be alone.
