I Judged My Cousin for Putting a Towel on the Stovetop – Then I Discovered the Genius Behind Her Trick

When I visited my cousin, something caught my eye: a towel was covering the stovetop. ⛑💥 At first, I thought she had gone crazy, but once she explained why she was doing it, I rushed home to try it myself. 😄 It turns out this simple trick solves a problem everyone has encountered at least once. I’ll explain everything in the article below 👇

Once, I went to visit my cousin and noticed something really strange: she had placed a towel over her stovetop. At first, I didn’t get it, but as soon as she explained her reasoning, I decided to try it too! Now, I’m sharing this tip along with some other tricks I’ve learned.

Why This Trick Works:

If you have a ceramic stove: simply pour a little white vinegar (9%) on the surface and cover it with a towel. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. The towel will prevent the vinegar from evaporating, allowing it to soften the dirt. Then, simply scrub with a damp sponge.

If you have a regular stovetop: start by sprinkling baking soda on the dirty areas. Then, spray a bit of vinegar on top and quickly cover with a damp towel. The reaction between the baking soda and vinegar dissolves all the grease and grime. Afterward, just scrub with a damp sponge, then finish with another sponge to dry.

An Extra Tip: Instead of baking soda, you can use baking powder. Sprinkle a bit of baking powder on the stains, add some vinegar, and cover with a towel for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then, clean the stovetop – this method works wonders!

My Other Tips:

  1. If the smell of vinegar is too strong for you, add a few drops of lemon or lavender essential oil. This not only helps remove dirt but also leaves a nice scent in the kitchen.
  2. To keep your stovetop tidy between deep cleans, use wet wipes specifically designed to remove grease. They are particularly effective for fresh stains and spills.
  3. After each cleaning, apply a bit of cooking oil with a paper towel. This creates a protective barrier that prevents dirt from sticking quickly.

Try these tips, and your stovetop will always stay spotless!
