A 68-year-old woman married a young man from Zanzibar.  They met online and communicated for a long time.  When her family found out about her relationship with this young man, they distanced themselves from her.  The first comment explains how her life evolved after their marriage .

This new beginning brought Lidia a renewal of energy and freedom. Her days are now filled with moments of sunlight, beach walks, and immersion in the local culture.

Her husband, a caring and benevolent man, has become a source of support and inspiration for her. Side by side, they created a small family business in the field of ecotourism, which allowed Lidia to feel busy and productive.

However, not everyone welcomed her decision. Her loved ones in Kiev saw her choice as a form of betrayal. “You left us for a dream,” a cousin told her.

Over time, her contact with family and friends became rarer. Lidia was particularly affected by the distance from her granddaughter, who had been one of the reasons she had stayed in Kiev for so long.

Fortunately, her granddaughter remained close. Inspired by her grandmother’s determination, she continued to check in regularly, and they spent hours talking via video, sharing projects and secrets. Her granddaughter even calls Lidia “the bravest woman in the world.”
