To catch his wife, the husband hid under the table and overheard her conversation about the family members, and what he did after hearing it all shocked everyone.

The house was filled with silence, but behind that silence, a tension could be felt, even in the walls. The man, a successful businessman, had noticed strange little things in his second wife’s behavior over the past few months.

In his presence, she was affectionate, spoke softly to the maid, and took care of the children. But sometimes, suddenly, the children looked frightened, and the maid — silent and submissive.

That day, the businessman pretended to leave for an important business trip. In the morning, he quickly packed his bag, spoke loudly on the phone with “partners,” and even drove the car out of the yard so that everything looked natural.

But a few minutes later, he returned unnoticed through the back entrance of the house. He knew every corner of his home.

He carefully sat under the table so as not to move the chairs or give himself away. He even turned off the phone sound and calmly watched and listened to what was happening in his house.

Soon, his wife entered the living room. Her expression was different — cold and stern. She sharply ordered the maid to quickly bring the children. The maid, a young girl, hugged the children, who fidgeted nervously.

The wife made loud remarks, blamed the girl for negligence, and the children for crying. In her voice, there was a strictness the man had never heard in her presence before. The man’s heart tightened. 

He heard his wife threateningly say that “in this house everything will go according to her will.” The maid remained silent, head lowered. One of the children began to cry, and the wife irritably approached him with a stern look.

Feeling that the situation was getting out of control, the husband slowly crawled out from under the table. His wife’s gaze froze — she was sure her husband was not in town.
