Thomas McIntyre was once a professional footballer. But after retiring from sports, his life changed dramatically. Without his former routine and physical activity, 43-year-old Thomas began to gain weight rapidly.
At one point, the scale showed an alarming 196 kilograms.
“I knew I was gaining weight,” Thomas recalls, “but I didn’t realize how bad it was until the day I got stuck in a turnstile. It was humiliating. People stared, some laughed. That’s when I knew I couldn’t live like that anymore.”
He had tried to lose weight before: going on diets, changing his eating habits drastically. But the constant hunger always led to relapses. Each time, he not only regained the lost weight but added even more.
The turning point came not only from that embarrassing incident but also from the support of his girlfriend Claire.
She helped Thomas build a new, sustainable system: balanced nutrition, moderate workouts, and – most importantly – self-care.
Gradually, the weight started coming off. Thomas began running three times a week, walking the dogs, and getting out more. The physical changes were visible, but the biggest transformation happened inside.
Today, Thomas weighs 86 kilograms. He lost 110 kg. His story isn’t just about weight loss. It’s about a second chance that started in the most unexpected place – a stuck turnstile.
