One day, Sophia, a young enthusiast of DIY and restoration, came across an abandoned vintage armchair on the street. Intrigued by its potential, she decided to give it a second life by transforming it into a piece of furniture that was both stylish and functional for a modern interior.
To embark on this creative journey, Maria completely dismantled the armchair. After assessing her material needs, she calculated that she would need 2.4 meters of fabric. Initially drawn to an olive green tone, she chose this color for the upholstery. However, after some thought, she opted for a bolder touch by incorporating a vibrant purple for a striking contrast.
Keen to preserve some of the piece’s original charm, Maria retained the armchair’s side panels in their original state. As for the cushions, she added an elegant finish with contrasting piping. To achieve this, she used a 5mm cord purchased from a store and completed the look with matching fabric scraps.
