Ziba Kelly is a young singer from a small British town. Although her name hasn’t yet reached the world’s major stages, she has already attracted the attention of thousands of people worldwide.

The reason? Her unbelievably long hair.

Ziba made the decision to never cut her hair again when she was 13. Inspired by magical princesses from animated films, she truly believed that long hair made a girl special.

Now Ziba is 30, and it’s been 17 years since she last stepped into a hair salon.

Her hair has reached 182 centimeters in length – almost as tall as she is. It seems to have a life of its own: silky, thick, dark, and it touches the floor no matter how she styles it or how high her heels are.

Ziba’s parents respected her decision. Her mother became her faithful helper in hair care: she learned to make special masks and braid complex hairstyles.

Occasionally, at her mother’s request, Ziba allowed her to trim just the very ends – no more than a couple of centimeters, and only if the tips were badly split.

But behind the fairytale appearance lie real challenges. Washing her hair takes at least an hour and a half, and brushing it takes another full hour.

After a shower, to avoid tripping over it, Ziba hangs her hair on a special hook on the wall – like a towel.

Wet, her hair weighs several kilograms, and at first her neck hurt often, until her body adapted to the weight.

Living with such a hairstyle requires sacrifice. Ziba rarely goes out alone, avoids crowded places, and never uses escalators – her strands could get caught in the mechanism, which is life-threatening.
