Sharon Osbourne breaks down in tears when reading fans’ touching messages to Ozzy

Supported by her children, Sharon Osbourne stood in silent grief as she placed a single rose for her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, during a tearful farewell that brought the city of Birmingham to a standstill.

Less than three weeks before the legendary Ozzy Osbourne died, the Prince of Darkness stood beneath the lights of Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, reuniting with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005 in an emotional farewell concert titled “Back to the Beginning.”

“You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” the 76-year-old told the more than 42,000 fans who packed the stadium, unaware they were witnessing the end of an era.

On July 22, 2025, his family confirmed that the iconic rocker – the frontman of Black Sabbath – had died, “surrounded by love,” and asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Tributes flooded in from around the globe following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, with music legends like Elton John, Metallica, and Rod Stewart among the many stars paying their respects. The rock icon had faced decades of health struggles, having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003 – though he kept it private until going public in 2019.

Despite his battles, Ozzy remained fiercely outspoken and active, donating millions to Parkinson’s charities and continuing to raise awareness.

Sharon Osbourne broke down as she read fans’ touching tributes
One week after his death, the rock legend was given a powerful, emotional, and unforgettable farewell as thousands of fans, family, and friends gathered in Birmingham to celebrate the life of the Prince of Darkness. From roaring chants to tearful tributes, the heavy metal icon’s final journey was as electrifying and heartfelt as the life he lived, the BBC reports.

“Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy!” echoed from fans as the funeral cortege passed by iconic locations, including Black Sabbath Bridge, where Ozzy’s music legacy began. Fans threw devil horns in the air, a nod to Ozzy’s signature salute, and held up signs, albums, and even guitars in tribute.

The tone of the event was a blend of chaotic energy and raw emotion – a perfect reflection of Ozzy himself. Fans played his biggest hits on portable speakers. Others sang in unison as “Paranoid” echoed through the city..

As Osbourne was driven through the streets in a Jaguar hearse followed by six black Mercedes funeral cars and police escorts, some laughed while others cried.

All came together in celebration of a man who redefined music and rebellion. One of the most moving moments was when Sharon Osbourne – Ozzy’s wife since 1982 – stepped out of the car, visibly heartbroken, she was gently supported on either side by her children, Kelly and Jack.

With trembling hands, she placed a single pink rose atop the growing sea of floral tributes for her beloved Ozzy.

“My heart hurts for Sharon and her family”
One by one, Kelly, Jack, Aimee, and Louis – Ozzy’s son from his first marriage – laid their own flowers in a moment that left the crowd in tears.

The scene was just as moving online. Social media flooded with memories, tributes, and heartbroken farewells, as the world continued to grieve the loss of one of rock’s loudest voices.

“My heart goes out to Sharon and her children! thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort and love and hugs being sent! I grew up listening to Ozzy a true master in music! RIP Ozzy you will be forever remembered and missed!” shared one netizen in the comments section of a Facebook post that shows a heartbroken Sharon.

A second notes: “Sharon is hurting so bad. You can see it all over her. The whole family is hurting terribly! My love goes out to the family, and the only rock and roll legend Ozzy Osbourne!”

Another adds, “My heart hurts for Sharon and her family, praying they find peace.”

Ozzy Osbourne may be gone, but his spirit – and his sound – will never fade. His final send-off was loud, loving, and unapologetically Ozzy.
