On our first date, my new beloved saw my bald head – and did something completely unexpected

On our first date, my new beloved saw my bald head – and did something completely unexpected 😢😢

I never thought that illness would change my life so much. When my hair first started to fall out, I tried not to give it much importance. But over time it disappeared completely and never grew back. At first, I tried to hide it with wigs, later I got used to wearing scarves. It might seem like a small detail, but it became my most painful secret.

I often caught people’s stares – full of pity or curiosity. But the hardest part was relationships. As soon as a man saw my bare head, he disappeared. No explanations, no calls, no goodbyes.

That hurt me so deeply that I decided it was better to live alone than to go through betrayal again and again. But… sometimes you just long to love and be loved. To have the simple things: someone holding your hand, looking into your eyes, and saying, “For me, you are the most beautiful.”

Recently, I finally dared to try again. We met online, wrote to each other for a long time. Then we switched to phone calls – talked for hours, laughed, shared thoughts and dreams.

He seemed exactly like the one I had been waiting for. Polite, attentive, easy to talk to. And one day he invited me on a date.

I agreed… but fear was eating me up from the inside. “What if he’s like all the others? What if I end up alone again – only this time with a broken heart?” I kept telling myself.

On the day of our meeting, I prepared for a long time: carefully tied my scarf, put on a beautiful suit, did my makeup with great care. I wanted to look dignified.

At the café, he came with a bouquet of flowers, smiling, looking just as kind and genuine as in our conversations. But before we even sat down, I felt I couldn’t keep this secret any longer.

I looked straight into his eyes and quietly said:

— You know, I need to tell you something important right away.

And without giving myself time to reconsider, I took off the scarf.

At that moment, I saw his smile disappear. His eyes wandered around the room, as if he were looking for the door to run out of the café. My heart sank. “That’s it… again…” I thought.

And right then, he did something I absolutely didn’t expect 🫣😢 To be continued in the first comment 👇👇

— I’m sorry… — I whispered. — You can leave. I won’t be offended. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me.

Silence fell between us. A few seconds that felt like an eternity. He just looked at me, at my head, into my eyes. I was already prepared for him to stand up and leave. But suddenly he spoke.

— You know… — he said softly but firmly. — When we first started talking, I didn’t even know what you looked like. I didn’t care – whether you were fat or thin, tall or short. That never mattered to me. I liked talking to you. You’re smart, easy to be with, you know how to listen and keep a conversation going. And I realized that the most valuable thing is who you are inside.

He smiled a little and added:

— If you don’t mind… may I just sit down next to you and order us something tasty? Honestly, I’m really hungry.

I froze, hardly believing my ears. My heart either stopped or raced a thousand times faster. All these years I had been waiting for exactly these words, this reaction. Not pity, not fake support – but simple acceptance.

I smiled – truly, for the first time – and nodded.
— Yes… of course.

And at that moment I understood: for the first time in a long time, I was truly happy. And it seems that soon we will be married.
