My grandmother never answers questions about her will: I decided to find out why

My grandmother never answers questions about her will and advises others to do the same. 😲 If someone asks her whether she has made a will or decided who will inherit what, she simply replies:

— I’ve already taken care of everything.

One day, I couldn’t hold back any longer and decided to ask her directly why she never answers these questions. Her wise response surprised me. I share what she said via the link in the comments 👇👇

My grandmother has always been a symbol of wisdom to me. She is already ninety years old, but her mind is as sharp as ever.

In our family, she is known for her advice – it seems like she has an answer for everything. People come to her for guidance, and she never refuses to help.

But one thing about her behavior has always puzzled me. Whenever the topic of her will comes up, she always avoids answering. If someone asks whether she has written a will or decided how to divide her assets, she simply says:

— I’ve already taken care of everything.

Those words kept bothering me. Recently, I decided to ask her directly:

— Grandma, why do you never talk about your will?

She looked at me carefully, her kind eyes twinkling mischievously. Then, with a slight smile, she said:

— Very few people ask about this out of love. Most of the time, the real reason is the desire to know everything and prepare for it. First come the polite questions, then the “excessive care” and unnecessary gifts. But I see through the hypocrisy: if the interest isn’t driven by feelings but by calculation, those people will disappear as soon as they realize they won’t get anything – or, on the contrary, once they’ve received what they wanted and have no reason to stay. That’s why I firmly believe that one should never reveal the details of a will or inheritance distribution – above all, it’s a matter of personal security.

Her words made me think. I recalled stories of families torn apart by inheritance disputes and realized how right she was.

Since then, I have never asked my grandmother about her inheritance again. But one thing I knew for sure: she had truly taken care of everything.
