Today I was coughing, and a strange white lump came out of my throat in an unusual shape. When I realized what it was, I panicked and immediately sought help from a specialist!
If you notice something similar in your throat, don’t delay — seek help right away! I explain what it is in the article below the photo
Have you ever noticed white lumps at the back of your throat? Sometimes they’re hard and often have an unpleasant odor. These little inconveniences can appear suddenly and cause bad breath.
In fact, the problem is much more common than you might think, but there are simple and natural ways to deal with it.
These small whitish formations found in the tonsils are called caseum or tonsillitis. They form from food particles, dead cells, and bacteria that get trapped in the crevices of the tonsils.
Over time, they harden and start emitting an unpleasant odor that smells like sulfur.
These elements are rich in sulfur-containing compounds, which are responsible for the smell that resembles rotten eggs. Even if you brush your teeth regularly, it’s not enough to completely get rid of the problem.
How to get rid of them naturally?
Fortunately, there are some simple solutions to help get rid of these lumps and prevent them from coming back:
Gargle with salt or baking soda: gargle every evening with warm water mixed with salt or baking soda.
Optimal hydration: drink enough water throughout the day. A well-hydrated mouth produces more saliva, which helps limit the formation of caseum.
Thorough oral hygiene: brush your teeth at least twice a day. Use a tongue scraper to remove buildup on your tongue.
Use dental floss to remove food remnants. Use a water flosser or a needle-free syringe to gently flush out caseum if it’s visible.
If the lumps in the tonsils appear frequently, grow in size, cause pain, or are accompanied by other symptoms (fever, chronic sore throat), it’s advisable to consult an ENT specialist.
