Heinz has issued an urgent recall of one of its most popular condiments
used during 4th of July celebrations due to serious contamination concerns.
A specific batch of Heinz ketchup
has been found to contain bacterial contamination, posing a potentially fatal risk to consumers.
According to the FDA, there is a “reasonable probability of death”
associated with consuming the affected product.
The contamination was discovered after several consumers reported
severe symptoms following use during Independence Day barbecues.
Heinz is urging customers to immediately
return any bottles from the recalled batch
and has launched a full investigation in collaboration with food safety authorities.
The contaminated products were distributed across multiple
U.S. states and may have remained on shelves through early August.
Consumers are advised to check production
codes carefully and avoid using any suspicious bottles.
Heinz has publicly apologized for the incident and pledged
to strengthen quality controls to prevent future occurrences.
