During the wedding, while my husband and I were cutting the cake, he suddenly pushed me from behind: I fell straight onto the cake, ruining my dress and everything around me, while my husband stood there laughing
I had been waiting for our wedding for many months. I saved money and thought through every little detail because I wanted that day to be exactly the way I had imagined it. The dress, the bouquet, the hairstyle, the cake — everything was chosen in advance, with love and patience.
The celebration started beautifully. The guests were smiling, the music was playing, and I caught myself thinking that everything had finally turned out right. But quite soon I noticed that my husband was drinking too much. He had always been reserved and serious, but that day he seemed like a completely different person. I tried not to pay attention, smiled, and convinced myself that it was just nerves.
My husband kept making stupid jokes, dancing like a madman. He grabbed my arm roughly, laughed at the wrong moments. By the middle of the evening, he had even managed to argue with my brother, and it almost turned into a fight. I still hoped that it would end there. But no — it only got worse…
When we approached the wedding cake, the hall fell silent. I took the knife, smiled at the guests — and at that moment my husband suddenly pushed me from behind. I lost my balance, fell straight onto the cake, and then onto the floor.
The cream was everywhere. The dress, the hairstyle, the makeup — everything was ruined in a single second. I sat on the floor and cried.
— What did you do?.. — I asked.
My husband just laughed and said it was a “cool joke.” He didn’t care about my tears. Some of the guests even supported him, saying that I was overreacting and that it wasn’t worth ruining the celebration over something so small.
At that moment, I realized that I couldn’t forgive my husband’s cruel “joke.” I did something after which he suddenly sobered up and later deeply regretted what he had done. Continued in the first comment
At that moment, something inside me broke. I stood up, wiped my face, and calmly said:
— If you ruined the most important day of our lives, then you will ruin my life as well.
I took all the wedding gifts and announced that the wedding was canceled. Without making a scene, without raising my voice, I simply walked out of the hall.
A few days later, I went on the honeymoon — alone. And with the money from the gifts, I bought myself a car.
And now he can deal with it on his own.
