Collin Gosselin, 21, Shares Emotional Message to Siblings After Years of Distance

On August 7, 2025, Collin Gosselin—one of the sextuplets featured on the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8—shared a heartfelt message on TikTok addressed to his seven siblings. Now 21, Collin reflected on their long separation, expressing sadness over the years they’ve spent apart. He posted a childhood photo of them together and wrote about feeling “forced apart” and “pitted against each other,” attributing their estrangement in part to the pressures of growing up in the public eye.

Collin shared that he still sees his sister Hannah occasionally and cherishes those moments. Both Collin and Hannah have lived with their father, Jon Gosselin, in recent years, while the other siblings have remained with their mother, Kate Gosselin.

When a commenter suggested that Collin might one day understand Kate’s perspective, he responded by sharing serious allegations about his past. He claimed he was sent away to a treatment facility at age 11 or 12 and spent years institutionalized. In past interviews, Collin has said he believes he was misdiagnosed and unfairly separated from his family, and that he felt abandoned by his mother during that time.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, Collin stated that Kate visited him only once while he was institutionalized and told him that he had “ruined the family.” He described the experience as traumatic and isolating, and has publicly questioned the accuracy of the diagnoses that led to his placement.

Kate Gosselin, through her legal representation, has maintained that her decisions were based on professional medical advice and done with the safety of the family in mind. Her attorney has said that Collin had multiple psychiatric diagnoses and described his view of events as a “distorted perception of reality.”

Jon Gosselin has publicly supported Collin, stating in interviews that he fought to remove his son from the facility and has long suspected that Collin was mistreated. He has claimed that his access to Collin was limited during those years.

Despite the painful history, Collin’s message on social media emphasized his desire for reconciliation. He said he hopes to rebuild relationships with his siblings and vowed to break the cycle of division for the sake of his future family.
