A police officer noticed a coffin in the middle of the sidewalk: he got out of the car, approached the coffin, opened the lid, and froze in horror at what he saw 😱😱

Sergeant started his shift as usual, with a coffee in a paper cup and a brief report to the dispatcher. He had been patrolling the city streets for years, knowing every turn, every alley, and every sign that could indicate problems before emergency services arrived.

His black-and-blue patrol sedan moved steadily over the asphalt, reflecting the streetlights in the windshield. The radio crackled with background noise. Everything was calm.

While driving down a quiet street and about to turn west, his gaze caught a strange silhouette ahead. Right in the middle of the right lane… stood a coffin. A real, heavy, wooden coffin with metal handles.

The sergeant slammed on the brakes. The warning lights flashed automatically. He pulled the key from the ignition and slowly, almost instinctively, opened the door. The door creaked open, and he stepped onto the asphalt. His hand instinctively went to his holster. Everything inside him said: something is wrong here.

He approached the coffin slowly. Each step echoed in his ears like a dull thud. The wind slightly moved his shirt under the bulletproof vest.

He stopped half a meter from the object. He bent down, held his breath, slowly lifted the lid… and froze in horror 😱😱 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

The coffin was empty.

And that was the most frightening part. No corpse, no lining inside, just emptiness and a faint smell of fresh varnish.

He immediately contacted the dispatcher via radio. Soon it was found out that at the other end of the city, a truck transporting a batch of new coffins for a funeral home had been involved in an accident.

Upon hitting the curb, one of the coffins literally flew out of the rear compartment, flew over the truck bed, and ended up in the middle of the road. The driver didn’t notice and drove on — only a few hours later did he discover the loss during unloading.

But that wasn’t all.

When the sergeant reviewed the street camera footage, he noticed that at the moment the coffin appeared on the road, within a radius of 300 meters there were no pedestrians or cars. As if the street had momentarily died out.
