This morning, an unusual discovery in my bathroom completely unsettled me.

As I entered the room, an odd detail immediately caught my eye: under the carpet, something resembled a mass of worms.

At first, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. But no, there seemed to be an accumulation of small, sinuous shapes, almost alive, moving slowly. 😯

The thought that an invasion of worms had taken over my home plunged me into panic. How had they gotten here?

And most importantly, how many were there? Doubts overwhelmed me, and I had no idea what to do in the face of what seemed to be an unbearable situation. A shiver ran down my spine, thinking that other creatures might be hiding in the corners of my house.

In my mind, the worst-case scenarios were playing out at full speed.

“What if they were venomous worms?” I thought. I had no idea what it could be, but my instinct told me not to touch what I was seeing without knowing more.

It turned out to be a phenomenon caused by the humidity and heat in the bathroom.

The carpet, old and exposed to the particular conditions of the room, had suffered damage. The fusion of the rubber threads in the carpet had caused them to detach, and with the heat, these threads had stuck to the floor.

The relief of not dealing with live worms was followed by another concern: how to clean this sticky substance off the floor?

After seeking advice from several people online, multiple solutions were suggested.

Among them, the use of hot water and a spatula or a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda seemed to be the most effective methods for removing this substance.

In the end, although the situation was unpleasant at first, it allowed me to discover an unexpected phenomenon.

I also realized the importance of maintaining spaces, even those we often neglect. But after all, isn’t it these kinds of incidents that make life more fascinating?
