I made this post public with the permission of the person involved. I am outraged that people would humiliate women for breastfeeding their children in public.”

Mélanie was on vacation in Mexico and was breastfeeding her four-month-old baby.

She recounted:

“I was in Cabo San Lucas with my whole family and a man told me to cover up (…) I’m usually discreet, and we were sitting at the back of the restaurant.”

The photo received huge support from social media users, who praised the mom’s gesture for its spontaneity and wisdom.

The young mother also stated:

“Breastfeeding is not easy—we shouldn’t have to endure additional humiliation from others.”
