A 56-year-old woman was stunned to discover she was pregnant. At her age, such news seemed impossible but test after test showed the same thing: two unmistakable lines. Tears streamed down her face as she whispered to herself:

Her world collapsed in an instant.

She later admitted she had avoided ultrasounds and modern scans, insisting:

“In the old days, women gave birth without all that. I didn’t want technology to harm my baby.”

Now, all those months of hope, the whispered lullabies, the promises to a child who never existed—shattered. She pressed her trembling hands to her stomach and murmured:
