Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother of three from Barnton, Northwich, was found dead in a lake at Oakmere after vanishing following a late-night visit to a local gas station. Her disappearance sparked a widespread search that ended in heartbreak when police recovered her body on July 21, 2025.

The community remains stunned by the tragedy, as questions linger about the events leading up to her disappearance in the early hours of July 19. Booth was last seen buying milk and wine at a Shell petrol station at around 3:50 a.m., appearing calm and composed according to employees.

The following days saw a massive search effort involving officers, sniffer dogs, and diving teams focused on the Delamere area, including the closure of the Wild Shore Delamere water sports site. Despite the extensive operation, authorities confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, leaving her loved ones devastated.

Rachel was known not only as a devoted wife to Carl Langley and a loving mother to Alfie, Archie, and Ronnie, but also as an active and well-liked member of her community. To support her surviving family, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been created, raising thousands to provide for her three boys and contribute to an ADHD charity close to their hearts. As the community mourns Rachel’s untimely passing, they come together to remember her warmth and to help her family find hope amid profound loss.
