I found this on my bed mixed with my cats’ fur – I was horrified when I realized what it was and went straight to the hospital

At first, I thought it was just dirt the cats had brought in, but the truth was much more terrifying 😱

Once I understood what it was and where it came from, I immediately took my cats to the veterinary clinic, got tested myself, and disinfected the entire apartment. 🫣
Please be careful if you notice anything like this in your home or on your pets 😱

I share all the details in the first comment 👇👇

Recently, I noticed strange, tiny, round, yellowish balls on my bed, mixed in with my cats’ fur.

At first, I thought it was just some outside dirt – it happens, cats walk on windowsills, and their paws aren’t always perfectly clean. But these balls were too firm, too uniform, and clearly not sand.

It started to worry me. I took a photo and began searching online. The more I read, the more chilled I felt.

It turned out they were tapeworm eggs – parasites that can live not only in animals but also in humans. I could hardly breathe from the shock.

My cats are indoor pets, but I sometimes take them outside on a leash. That may have been how they got infected – worm eggs can be anywhere: in the grass, in soil, even on people’s shoes.

I took both cats straight to the vet.

There, my worst fears were confirmed – one of them was diagnosed with dipylidiosis, an infection caused by the cucumber tapeworm (Dipylidium caninum), a type of tapeworm.

These parasites look like thin white worms, and their eggs resemble tiny grains of rice or dry little balls.

While my beloved cats were undergoing treatment, I decided to get tested too. Even if the chances were low, I didn’t want to take any risks.

Thankfully, nothing was found in my case, but the doctors explained that infection can occur by accidentally swallowing the eggs – for example, by kissing your pet on the face or not washing your hands after contact.

After that, I did a full disinfection of the apartment – mopped all the floors with antiseptics, washed all linens at high temperature, treated the furniture and soft toys, and cleaned everything I possibly could.
