This woman once tipped the scales at over 200 kilograms and couldn’t stop eating

This woman once tipped the scales at over 200 kilograms and couldn’t stop eating.

Tatiana Santiago was never the skinny type, but for many years, her weight stayed within a healthy range.

Everything changed in 2020. After suffering the heartbreaking loss of her child, she turned to food for comfort. 😢

By the end of that year, her weight had spiraled past 200 kilograms. She found herself stuck in a painful loop of grief, emotional eating, and fatigue.

It wasn’t until she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and barely recognized the reflection staring back that she realized how far she’d fallen. That moment sparked a turning point.👇

Her transformation began with movement. She started by taking long walks, eventually adding swimming to her routine. Slowly but surely, she started to appreciate the physical activity, and her body responded with renewed energy.

The next big step was changing her diet. She gave up processed foods and reduced her carb intake, saying goodbye to some of her favorite—but unhealthy—comfort foods.

Progress came quickly. By early 2023, she had shed nearly 100 kilograms. But just when things seemed to be going well, she received another blow: a diagnosis of fatty liver disease.

That news shook her. Even though she had lost weight, her health still required serious intervention. She made the difficult but necessary choice to undergo gastric bypass surgery.

Post-surgery, she didn’t slow down. She committed to working out six times a week and embraced her new lifestyle fully.

When she returned home, her transformation was so dramatic that her own family hardly recognized her.

Today, she weighs 75 kilograms. She finally feels proud when she looks in the mirror—and most importantly, she has learned to love the woman she sees.
