From birth, Sergey had a rare nasal defect – so rare that it wasn’t even detected during an ultrasound. Later it turned out that such a diagnosis occurs only once every ten years.

The surgery that could change the boy’s life was very expensive – and for an ordinary family, it was out of reach. But his mother didn’t give up.

In a desperate move, she wrote a letter to a television show, hoping they would notice their plight.

The episode featuring Sergey touched the hearts of thousands. Volunteers, charities, and kind-hearted viewers began to take action.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, they found a skilled surgeon willing to perform the complex surgery. It was a real chance – and the mother and her son took it, despite all the risks.

The surgery was a success, although a long and difficult recovery lay ahead.

Sergey endured everything with courage – because he had a dream: to be just like everyone else, to avoid curious or mocking stares, and to simply walk, play, and smile freely.

Today, Sergey is a confident boy who no longer stands out from his peers. He has real friends now, and best of all – he found a passion: football.
