At 39, Charity was at the brink – her weight had reached a catastrophic 350 kg. But as she admits, that wasn’t the scariest part.

What scared her most was that she had dragged her own daughter into her food addiction. The girl was only 19 but already weighed 150 kg, was completely dependent, and needed constant help.

Charity’s husband, Tommy, didn’t see a problem. He was one of those men attracted to extremely overweight women. He didn’t just accept his wife’s condition – he enjoyed caring for her.

Tommy met Charity on a dating site, came to visit her… and never left.

He was there when she could no longer walk, when she couldn’t bathe herself, and when even going to the bathroom required help. He and their daughter shared the responsibility of caring for her.

But one day, Charity looked at her daughter and realized: she wasn’t raising an independent person, but someone repeating her own mistakes.

That’s when the long and difficult journey began.

Charity agreed to be hospitalized. Over two months, she underwent full medical examinations, learned the basics of nutrition, received psychological support – and lost her first 20 kg.

When her weight dropped to 290 kg, doctors performed a gastric reduction surgery. Within a year she had lost 120 kg, and a year after that – a total of 200 kg. Her weight stabilized at 150 kg.

Now, mother and daughter go to therapy together, learning to care for themselves and to find joy in movement and freedom – not in food.
