A few years ago, doctors gave Aleksandr no more than two years to live. At the time, he was just over thirty and weighed nearly 270 kilograms.

He had struggled with weight since childhood: after a serious illness, doctors strongly recommended a strict diet, but neither Aleksandr nor his family took it seriously.

Pastries, sweets, sugary sodas — all became part of his daily routine.

Over time, his health began to deteriorate rapidly. The veins in his right leg became swollen, he experienced liver pain, and his hemoglobin levels dropped dangerously low.

He could no longer sleep lying down — only sitting up. Constant fatigue, shortness of breath, and eventually isolation from society followed.

Even at home, everything collapsed: his wife, who had been with him for years and married him when he was already overweight, couldn’t take it anymore. She said she couldn’t live like that, took their son, and left. The marriage ended in divorce.

Left alone, without family or a stable job, Aleksandr tried to find employment. But he faced rejection everywhere — his weight was an obstacle even in places where it shouldn’t have mattered.

So he bought a used car and became a taxi driver.

Nearly a year passed — alone behind the wheel, with heavier and heavier thoughts. He tried to lose weight — strict diets, weight-loss challenges, relapses, new efforts.

But one day, as he later said, “the day came when I was tired of dying.”

He started small: walking, cutting sugar, water instead of sweet drinks. Then came a visit to a nutritionist, diet control, and support from online communities. Slowly but steadily, he began to lose weight. Then he joined a gym.

At first, he could barely handle 10 minutes on the treadmill. But persistence paid off. After a year, Aleksandr weighed 130 kg, and six months later — 90. During that time, he not only changed his body but completely transformed his life.

He earned a second degree and became a certified fitness trainer, specializing in working with obese clients.
