I found these thin, semi-transparent scraps of something all over the apartment: I was horrified when I realized what they were

My one-year-old son and I moved into a new house, but after just a few days, we started noticing strange things 😱 At first, I saw this strange object on the carpet in the bedroom, something thin and semi-transparent 😨 I thought it was just trash until the next day I found a similar scrap, this time in the bathroom 😱

When I finally understood what it really was, I was simply horrified. Now I don’t even know how to continue living in this house 😢 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

When I moved into the new house with my one-year-old son, I thought it was the beginning of a new, peaceful life.

The first few days were quiet and normal.

But on the fourth or fifth day, I noticed a strange object on the carpet in the bedroom. It looked like a thin, semi-transparent ribbon rolled into a circle.

I thought it was some kind of trash, maybe a dried-up packing tape. But when I took it in my hand, it was soft, almost like parchment, and… strangely alive. Inside, there was a clear scale pattern. I felt a chill.

I still tried to be rational. “You never know what happens in old houses,” I told myself. But then other things started happening.

At night, I began hearing strange sounds — as if something was rustling under the floor. Sometimes a thin, barely audible hissing.

At first, I thought it was the neighbors downstairs — maybe children or pets. But after a few days, the sounds got louder. They came closer, as if moving under our feet. Especially in the bathroom.

I started getting scared. My son slept in his crib, and I often woke up at night to check if everything was alright.

On the seventh day, I found another scrap of that strange “ribbon.” This time behind the dresser in the nursery. The same soft, semi-transparent material. I started searching online. It was… snakeskin.

I felt uneasy. I called specialists — the animal control service. They came the next morning. They inspected the bathroom, kitchen, basement. And that’s when we learned the truth.

Under the floor of our house, spotted rat snakes had settled — large North American snakes. They are not venomous, but quite impressive. Moreover, they had made a nest under the bathtub with many babies.

Now I barely sleep at night. I constantly check if the ventilation grilles are closed and if all the cracks are properly sealed.

If you ever hear strange noises or find unexplained objects — please don’t ignore it. It may not be just trash or a random sound. Be careful. Sometimes, behind the walls of your house, lives something you never expected.
