What do men usually talk about when they’re out fishing? Often it’s sports, or any number of things that capture their interest. But if they’re married, the conversation almost always turns to their wives.
That was exactly the case for four friends who went out fishing one weekend. As they cast their lines and settled in, the topic soon shifted to what it had taken for each of them to get a day away from home.

Most of the men were groaning about the long “honey-do” lists waiting for them once they got back. But one of them had found a clever solution that left the others speechless—and maybe a little jealous.
After about an hour, their conversation went like this:
First guy: “You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishing this weekend. I promised my wife I’d paint every room in the house next weekend.”
Second guy: “That’s nothing! I had to promise my wife I’d build her a new deck for the pool.”
Third guy: “Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife I’ll remodel the kitchen for her.”

They fished quietly for a while before realizing that the fourth man hadn’t said a single word.
So they turned to him. “You haven’t said anything about what you had to do to be able to come fishing this weekend. What’s the deal?”
The fourth guy shrugged and said calmly, “I just set my alarm for 5:30 a.m. When it went off, I shut off the clock, nudged my wife, and said, ‘Fishing, or S*x.’ She said, ‘Wear a sweater.’”
