The young man asked his girlfriend to pick up his mother from the hospital and stay with her for a few days. However, upon his return, he noticed something suspicious.  

Mark had asked his girlfriend to pick up his mother from the hospital and stay with her while he was on a business trip.  She agreed, and when Mark returned a few days later, she greeted him with a smile and a delicious dinner.  But everything seemed so perfect that Mark became suspicious.

Mark had been in a relationship with Irina but had long delayed proposing. He had his own apartment and was focused on renovations and saving for the wedding.

When Irina insisted on meeting his parents, Mark agreed, even though he wasn’t ready for such a big step.

Irina’s parents welcomed him warmly, and her father offered to pay for the entire wedding, but Mark insisted on paying his share, even by taking out a loan.

A week later, they were supposed to visit Mark’s mother, but Irina, citing an allergy to rural areas, postponed the trip.

Mark was very attached to his mother, and when he noticed she was unwell, he took her to the hospital, even though she resisted.

A few days later, he received a lucrative job offer in another city, so Mark went on the business trip, promising Irina he would return for the wedding.

Before leaving, he asked his fiancée to pick up his mother from the hospital and stay with her until he returned. Irina agreed, though without much enthusiasm.

When he returned, Mark discovered that his mother wasn’t home. Irina explained that her father had ordered the housekeeper to take her to the countryside. This made Mark furious.

He left the house for a few hours and returned with his mother. Irina, upset that her future mother-in-law was living with them, suggested sending Mark’s mother to a nursing home.

These words were the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“Pack your things and leave my house. The wedding won’t happen. If you don’t respect my mother, you don’t respect me!”
