Police have confirmed the final missing girl from Camp Mystic has been found!

After weeks of searching, Texas authorities have located the youngest of the 27 girls who disappeared from Camp Mystic during last month’s devastating floods—just 800 meters from her family’s home.

The dense woods where she lay were only recently reachable once the waters subsided and years of debris were cleared.

Although that area had been canvassed early in the rescue effort, shifting terrain and scattered wreckage made it all but inaccessible until now.

When rescuers finally reached her, they found the little girl resting quietly, as though asleep.

At first glance, there was no sign of injury—but the moment everyone saw her tear-streaked face and the small, soaked object clenched in her hand, the mood shifted from relief to heartbreak.

Even the search dogs, trained to press forward, paused at the sight. Seasoned officers, many of whom had walked those woods for days on end, struggled to hold back tears.

To protect her family’s privacy, officials have not released her name.

Police confirmed she was the youngest camper lost in the storm, and that her discovery brought a flood of emotion among volunteers and first responders. “In all my years on the force, I’ve never seen anything like it,” one officer admitted.

“It was as if the forest itself exhaled a collective sigh.”

Neighbors and classmates have since gathered near the edge of the trail where she was found, leaving flowers,

handwritten notes, and candles in tribute. A family friend remarked, “She was almost home—so close that we dared to hope, and now we mourn.

” In a brief statement, her parents thanked everyone who helped in the search and asked for privacy as they remember the joy she brought into their lives.

Investigators continue to piece together the timeline of the girls’ disappearance, examining whether floodwaters, structural failures at the camp, or other factors contributed to the tragedy.

Forensic teams are now able to include this final discovery in their work, helping to clarify how the worst of the storm unfolded.

Detective Lila Moreno summed up the bittersweet moment:

“Finding her marks the end of one grueling chapter, but it also brings us closer to understanding what happened. Our community’s grief is deep, but so is our gratitude for every person who refused to give up hope.”
