Imagine coming home and finding a key abandoned right in front of your door. A mistake? A coincidence? That’s what we thought at first. But after looking for answers, we uncovered a much more unsettling reality… See below    

It all started with a normal return home. Looking down, my husband noticed a worn key left right in front of our door. Curious, we picked it up and started asking ourselves questions. Neither of us recognized it. Why was it there?

After some research, doubt crept in: this type of key is called a “master key” and is sometimes used to force access to certain doors.

We found out that some criminals leave them behind to see if they can open a lock. If the key works, they know the house is an easy target.

Faced with this possibility, we decided to act immediately: Change the lock to a more secure model. Install a surveillance camera. Inform our neighborhood about this trick. Report the finding to the neighbors and the police.

If you ever find a suspicious key in front of your door, don’t ignore it! Investigate, check your locks, and improve your home’s security. Better safe than sorry!
