On the day of the divorce, I read a letter to my husband that I had written the day before: everyone laughed, and my ex-husband could barely stand on his feet

My husband said he wanted a divorce. It hurt, but I agreed and decided to get my revenge. At the registry office, in front of everyone, I read the letter I had written after our breakup. The people present laughed loudly, and my ex-husband turned red with shame.

In the link in the comments, I explain what I wrote in the letter 👇👇

After my marriage to the man I loved ended, I wrote a letter full of gratitude for everything we had been through together.

This is how I expressed it:

“My dear, we have been through a lot in these 15 years. In joy and sorrow, in pain and happiness — I was always by your side, trying to support you, and even though our story has come to an end, I want to keep only the good memories.

You taught me patience and determination. Instead of complaining about difficulties, I learned to deal with them without excessive stress. I tried to solve problems on my own so that I wouldn’t burden you with unnecessary worries.

You were my first teacher in medicine. I will never forget how you refused injections, and I had to be not only your wife but also your nurse. When I saw you lose consciousness at the sight of a needle, I was not afraid to take matters into my own hands.

You helped me become a master of home repairs. I learned how to do small repairs, and now I am not afraid of any breakdowns. You often came home tired and forgot about these things, but it was me who, armed with tools, took on the task.

Screwdrivers and hammers became my faithful companions, and I realized that I could now handle any situation, even if I were alone.

You taught me to be a confident and decisive woman. I learned how to solve problems with neighbors, pay fines, and write explanatory letters.

By the way, do you remember how I had to learn to drive? Your license was taken away, and I had to learn to drive in a few days so that I could pick you up from those parties where you often came home not in the best condition.

I’m glad that, thanks to you, I was always on the move. You, of course, preferred to sit on the couch, but I carried heavy grocery bags and dug in the garden because you refused to stand up and help because of the pain in your finger.

You taught me to be a professional in different fields. When we needed to earn a living, I learned to work in various professions to provide for our family.

And finally, I want to thank you for leaving. You thought I didn’t understand you, and you left, slamming the door. But honestly, I felt relief when you left. That was the moment when I could finally breathe freely.

Thank you for everything. I am grateful for the experience you gave me and for everything I learned thanks to our time together.”
