This woman from India became a mother at the age of 74. And not just to one child, but to two little girls She and her 80-year-old husband had dreamed of having children for many years, but it never worked out – until a miracle happened!
It’s been nearly five years since the twins were born.
Many people at her age can barely move, and yet she’s caring for two children at once The first comment showed how this strong woman’s daughters look now
Many believe that after the age of thirty, it’s too late to become a mother. But for Erramatti Mangayamma from India, such beliefs never mattered.
She believed that motherhood is not a matter of age. And in 2019, at 74 years old, she became a mother for the first time.
Erramatti was born and raised in a small village. At 16, she married Raja, who was 20 at the time. The couple lived a long and loving life together, but were never able to have children.
For decades, they visited doctors, hoping for a miracle, but at age 40, Erramatti received a heartbreaking diagnosis: infertility.
Early menopause crushed her dreams of becoming a mother. Some doctors even advised Raja to find another woman to have children with, but he refused – his love for Erramatti was stronger than anything.
Years went by. But in 2018, something happened in their village that rekindled Erramatti’s hope. A local woman had become a mother thanks to IVF – in vitro fertilization.
Hearing this, Erramatti’s hope reignited. She consulted specialists, underwent all necessary tests, and received a surprising but encouraging answer: with a donor egg, there was a chance.
The procedure was done, and months later, the twin girls were born — Uma and Rama.
They were delivered via C-section at 38 weeks. Each baby weighed about two kilograms. Of course, Erramatti had no breast milk, so the girls were fed with formula.
One year after the birth of the girls, Raja died of a heart attack.
Erramatti grieved deeply, but despite her pain, she continued to raise her daughters with love and care.
– I’ve already made an arrangement with a kind man in our village. If anything happens to me, he will take care of my girls – she said.
