My mother-in-law came to visit and immediately declared that she would sleep in our bedroom. Of course, I was against it and offered her another room.
She walked into our bedroom without hesitation and lay down on our bed. But I came up with a brilliant way to evict my cheeky mother-in-law from our room while still being the “good daughter-in-law.”
I’ll explain what I did in the first comment
When my mother-in-law entered our house, she immediately began inspecting everything with dissatisfaction. When she saw our bedroom, she said she would sleep there, even though it was meant for my husband and me.
I tried to explain that this was our room, but my mother-in-law was adamant.
When I offered her a shower first, she refused, saying she needed to choose her sleeping spot right away. I offered her another room, but she categorically refused.
She went into our bedroom and without any shame lay down on the bed. I said this couldn’t be, and that she should sleep in another room, but my mother-in-law insisted on her choice.
I realized I wouldn’t be able to convince her, so I told my husband.
He apparently didn’t know how to talk to his mom, as she didn’t accept any arguments. However, I decided to compromise.
– Alright, let your mom sleep in our room tonight, but only tonight.
But I had a brilliant revenge plan.
When she went to shower, I quickly placed some cat hair under the sheets, hoping it would cause an allergic reaction. Before her visit, she had asked me to remove all cat hair from the house.
A few minutes later, she ran out of the bedroom, complaining about allergies.
Of course, I pretended to be surprised and said the cat was outside.
– Maybe you should sleep in another room, our cat doesn’t go there.
When she agreed, I happily returned to our bedroom, feeling like I had won this little battle.
