American actor, comedian, and stuntman Verne Troyer only became truly famous at age 30 when he played the role of Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films.
His vivid and memorable performance impressed audiences so much that the filmmakers decided to significantly increase his character’s screen time.
However, Troyer suffered from a rare condition — chondrodysplasia (hypoplasia) — in which the bones virtually stop growing. His height was only 81 cm.
Because of his condition, he remained very short, and even his hair barely grew. But despite these physical limitations, Verne lived lavishly.
He threw wild parties, surrounded himself with glamorous models, and was always the center of attention.
Yet behind all the glitz was a sad reality: many women took advantage of his fame and money. They disappeared from his life as soon as they found someone richer or more promising.
In 2004, Troyer married Genevieve Gallen — a model, yoga instructor, and longtime friend.
Genevieve was 168 cm tall, but that didn’t stop her from striking elegant poses with Verne on the red carpet — even kneeling down to kiss him for the cameras.
Their relationship was turbulent: jealousy, loud arguments, and passions that many assumed were just publicity stunts. And indeed — their marriage ended the morning after their wedding night.
They never spoke publicly about the breakup, but rumors suggested Genevieve had cheated on Troyer on their wedding day. Nevertheless, they later reconciled and lived together for about three years before she left him again — for another man.
Sadly, Verne Troyer passed away in 2018. He mixed pills with alcohol, which proved a fatal mistake. He was only 49 years old.
