Crouzon syndrome is a rare genetic disorder in which the bones of the skull fuse too early, causing severe facial and skull deformities.

Children with this syndrome often have bulging eyes, small eye sockets, narrowed airways, and over time may develop strabismus as well as hearing and vision loss.

Many patients end up disabled and also face intellectual disabilities. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to prevent this disease.

The only chance to improve the child’s appearance and quality of life is through complex surgical procedures. This was exactly the opportunity that the parents of the boy in question received.

The doctors performed a multi-stage craniofacial reconstruction, carefully changing the shape and position of the skull and facial bones.

Thanks to these surgeries, they were able to enlarge the eye sockets, create space for brain growth, reduce pressure on the eyes, and normalize the airways.

The result is remarkable. The boy’s face is no longer defined only by his illness and his struggle with it. Now it is the face of a child in which you can see childlike innocence and hope again.

He has started to see better, breathe more freely, and his features have become more harmonious.
