It should have been a Monday morning like any other. Clara, the mother of an eight-year-old girl named Anna, was making breakfast for school. But something was wrong.
Anna was pale, sitting at the table, holding her stomach.
“Mom… it still hurts,” she whispered weakly.
Clara felt her heart tighten. “Did you say it hurt yesterday too?”
Anna nodded worriedly. “It started Saturday night… really bad. I told my stepfather, but he said it was probably because of the pizza.”
