“Don’t touch him, you’re dirty,” my daughter-in-law said when I tried to calm my grandson: these words surprised me, and here’s what I did

😯 “Don’t touch him, you’re dirty,” my daughter-in-law said when I tried to calm my grandson: these words surprised me, and here’s what I did.

It’s been a year now that my son and his wife have been living with us after facing financial difficulties. I’ve always believed that family members should support each other during tough times. So, I did everything I could to help them.

At first, my daughter-in-law seemed very kind, and I never hesitated to offer my help, especially after the birth of their baby.

One day, while I was taking care of the flowers, I heard crying coming from the baby’s room. Without thinking, I rushed to the room and picked up my grandson to try and calm him down.

At that moment, my daughter-in-law entered the room and, in a harsh tone, said, “Don’t touch him, you’re dirty.”

I was stunned. My son came into the room and heard her words. I thought he would stand up for me, but to my surprise, he simply added that his wife was “protecting her child.” That comment hurt me deeply.

Instead of staying silent, I decided to take action, and here’s what I did.

Honestly, I never thought I would share this story, but I’d really like to know your opinions and what you would do in a situation like this.

"Don't touch him, you're dirty," my daughter-in-law said when I tried to calm my grandson: these words surprised me, and here’s what I did

After this incident, I took some time to think about the situation and the family dynamics that had settled in.

This wasn’t the first time my daughter-in-law had acted in a demeaning way towards me.

I had already put up with several hurtful comments and disrespectful behaviors from her, hoping that things would improve with time.

"Don't touch him, you're dirty," my daughter-in-law said when I tried to calm my grandson: these words surprised me, and here’s what I did

But those words were the last straw.

I no longer intended to tolerate this lack of respect, especially in my own home.

I made a radical decision: it was time for them to leave.

"Don't touch him, you're dirty," my daughter-in-law said when I tried to calm my grandson: these words surprised me, and here’s what I did

I calmly explained to my son that, while I understood their financial difficulties, I could no longer accept being treated this way by his wife.

I told him that as long as they lived under my roof, I deserved a minimum of respect, otherwise, they had to leave.

The next day, they left my house.
