Get Up, Lazybones!” She Yelled at Her Pregnant Daughter-in-Law — But the Next Day, Her Own Words Came Back to Haunt Her

At six in the morning, my mother-in-law roughly pulled the blanket off my pregnant daughter-in-law: “Get up, lazybones! I’m hungry! How long can you lie around like this?” But she had no idea what awaited her the next day.

At six in the morning, my mother-in-law roughly pulled the blanket off my pregnant daughter-in-law: “Get up, lazybones! I’m hungry! How long can you lie around like this?” But she had no idea what awaited her the next day. 😨😢

The first months of pregnancy were very difficult for me – constant nausea, weakness, sleepless nights. And now there was my mother-in-law, who wouldn’t let me live in peace.

Every morning – reproaches, scolding, ridicule. And if I tried to say a word in response, she immediately complained to my husband and threatened to kick us out of the house.

I hardly slept that night. Around five in the morning, my eyes began to close, but a sharp voice in my ear interrupted my sleep:

“Get up, lazybones, I’m hungry. Cook something, you’ve been sleeping all day!”

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying not to cry.

“Mom, I don’t feel well,” I whispered. “I’ve been sick all night.”

“Keep your ailments to yourself!” she barked. “Women in our time gave birth and didn’t complain!”

I got up and made breakfast, but something inside me snapped. I realized I couldn’t go on like this. I had to come up with a plan of revenge, to put my insolent mother-in-law in her place. And that’s what I did…

That night, when everyone was asleep, I turned on a recording on the speaker—quiet whispers, a child’s cries, sighs. I turned the volume down to the minimum, so the sound seemed to be coming from far away.

For the first few minutes, nothing happened. Then I heard the bed creak in the next room—my mother-in-law had woken up.

The house seemed quiet, but from the kitchen she heard a soft feminine whisper. It sounded like someone was crying. My mother-in-law listened—the sound had died down. She decided she must have been dreaming.

A few minutes later, more crying, then rustling, then a man’s voice, barely audible. My mother-in-law jumped up in bed, her heart pounding.

“Who’s there?!” she screamed.

There was no answer. Only a light knock on the wall and then silence again.

Towards morning, she still hadn’t slept a wink.

“Did you hear anyone talking last night?” she asked me in the morning, her eyes frightened.

I smiled innocently:

“No, Mom, I stayed up all night reading a book, but there were no voices. Maybe you dreamed it?”

The next night, it all happened again. Whispers, knocks, the quiet cry of a child.

My mother-in-law began crossing herself and whispering prayers. She thought her late husband had come for her.

Towards morning, her hands trembling, she came to me.

“I can’t take it anymore, something’s happening in the house…”

I looked at her calmly and said quietly:

“Maybe God is punishing you. Maybe you should be a little kinder to others.”

She changed after that. She no longer yelled, reproached, or woke me up in the morning. On the contrary, she brought me tea and asked how I was feeling. And at night, the house was perfectly quiet. The voices disappeared… because I turned off the speaker.
