An elementary school teacher noticed that one of her students, after class, buried her books and notebooks under a tree: the teacher was shocked when she found out why the girl was doing this 
In the class, one girl always stood out — quiet, withdrawn, but incredibly intelligent. She knew the answers to the hardest questions, solved problems faster than anyone else, and read as if she absorbed every word with her heart. But she had no friends and kept to herself. Her classmates avoided her: everyone knew she came from a poor family, and they mocked and bullied her.
The teacher felt sorry for her, but something else worried her even more. Every day after school, the girl didn’t hurry home.
She went to the yard behind the school, sat under an old tree, and wrote for a long time in her notebooks, solved problems, and read her books. And then she did something that one day took the teacher’s breath away: the girl dug a small hole and buried her books and notebooks there, covering them with soil.
This happened again and again, every day. Finally, one day, the teacher couldn’t stand it anymore and walked over to the girl.
— Why are you doing this? — she asked gently.
The girl froze, pressed her notebooks to her chest, and answered softly. The teacher was shocked by her answer

And then came a confession that shook the teacher to the core. The father believed that a woman should only know how to cook, wash, and clean.
He was against school, said that knowledge only ruined a girl, and that her future was marriage at eighteen.
One day, when he caught his daughter doing homework, he snatched away all her notebooks, tore up her books, and threw them into the fire. The girl cried, begged him not to take away the only thing that gave her joy, but the father was relentless.
Since then, she had hidden her books under the tree so her father wouldn’t find them at home. She sat on the cold ground, did her homework, buried them again, and returned as if she had nothing.
The teacher listened, hardly able to believe it. Before her stood a child fighting for the right to learn, hiding knowledge like a secret treasure.
Tears filled her eyes, and in her heart grew a determination — she would not allow this girl to lose her future.
