I saw my stepmother rummaging through my suitcase before a business trip, and then putting something in it

I saw my stepmother rummaging through my suitcase before a business trip, and then putting something in it: I was frozen when I discovered what it was.

I work for a large company, and from time to time, I go on business trips. My husband never had any issues with my trips, but my stepmother didn’t like them. Especially the fact that, during my absence, she had to take care of her son, clean, or prepare meals.

From the start, she never really liked me. She had a friend whose daughter was the “perfect daughter-in-law” in her eyes. She dreamed of seeing her son marry this girl, and the fact that he chose me didn’t sit well with her. Everything she’s done since our marriage seemed like an attempt to separate us.

One day, just before one of my business trips, I saw her rummaging through my suitcase. I was in shock, but I didn’t react immediately, just silently observing to see what she would do.

That’s when I saw her take something out of her pocket and slip it discreetly into my suitcase.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was so strange that I decided to discreetly film the scene to have proof of what was going on. In the morning, before leaving, I checked my suitcase, and what she had put in it was… shocking.

I was frozen when I discovered what she had slipped into my things.

Thinking no one could see her, she discreetly slid in fine lingerie, a man’s tie, and a compromising note.

I had filmed everything and showed the video to my husband.

I didn’t know how he would react, but I couldn’t stay silent anymore.

I handed him my phone, without a word. He watched the video in silence.

His face went from disbelief to anger, and then to deep sadness.

He whispered: “I’m sorry… I didn’t know she would go that far.”

We talked for a long time, heart to heart.

It wasn’t just my fight; it was ours.

He took my hand and told me he had had enough.

Enough of her manipulation, her toxicity.

A few days later, we packed our bags.

We left to live elsewhere.
