A young woman was walking along a forest path when she saw a hand sticking out of the snow. When she touched this strange discovery, she screamed in horror 

Anna was walking on a narrow trail, covered in fresh snow. After many years of living in the city, she had returned to her native village – the very place where she had spent her childhood. Having lost her mother and father, Anna had decided to sell the old house and never come back. But before that, she wanted to spend at least a week in silence and peace, far away from all the hustle and bustle.

As before, her favorite pastime was morning walks in the forest. The air was crisp and icy, and all around reigned a white silence. Anna walked, enjoying the calm, until her gaze caught on something strange.

A human hand was sticking out of the snow. Frozen, white. The girl froze in horror. Her heart pounded so loudly it seemed the whole forest could hear it.

At first, she thought it was some macabre discovery, that something terrible had happened here. But curiosity overcame fear. She stepped closer, touched the icy hand – and screamed in horror  To be continued in the first comment 

And suddenly… the hand moved.

Anna screamed and recoiled, but in the next instant she realized: under the snow was a living person! She began digging with her bare hands, until her gloves were soaked and icy.

After a few minutes, the face of a young man appeared under the layer of snow. He was wearing a military uniform. His lips were bluish, his breathing barely audible.

With trembling fingers, Anna took out her phone, called an ambulance and rescue workers, while she kept digging, covering the man with her scarf and trying to warm him with her breath.

A few hours later, already in the hospital, the doctors said he had survived as if by a miracle. An avalanche had covered part of the forest road, and the young man had been trapped under the snow. He had lain there for hours, until Anna happened to stumble upon his hand.

And it was only thanks to her that he survived.
