😯 For several weeks, someone had been leaving a red rose on the mat in front of my door. At first, it deeply touched me; it felt like a delicate, almost romantic gesture. But over time, an odd sensation began to creep in. There was never a note, no message, no name—just the rose, day after day.

I had been married, but it had been ten years since my husband left me for another woman. I often wondered if he was behind this mysterious gesture. One day, he had tried to come back, to start over, but I rejected him. Since then, I hadn’t heard from him.

I just wanted to live in peace, surrounded by my friends, who had become my real family. Everything was calm and quiet, until the appearance of that enigmatic rose.

One morning, I finally found a note slipped under the stem of the flower. There were only a few words: “You’re not as alone as you think.” As I read it, my heart began to race. Was this a joke, or was someone following me?

The next day, there was no rose, but I noticed a strange car parked across the street. A man was sitting inside, reading a newspaper. Fear washed over me. Someone was watching my house.

I had spoken about this situation to my best friend, and she suggested I spend the night at her place so we could figure out what was going on together. I agreed, more out of necessity than choice.

That night, just as we were about to sleep, someone knocked at the door. I quietly approached the peephole to take a look. What I saw… was almost unbelievable.
