“Dad, don’t leave me with the new mom, she does terrible things”: the worried father decided to hide in the closet to uncover the truth and was shocked by what he saw 

The silence in the room felt heavier than usual. Victor, a man just over forty, sat on the edge of the sofa, staring at the TV where the news was playing. But he didn’t hear a single word. His thoughts wandered far away — into memories, doubts, uncertainty.

A year ago, everything changed. He lost his wife, and six months later another woman suddenly appeared in his life. They met at work: the woman had recently been promoted and became head of the HR department. At first, it was simple conversations by the coffee machine, then occasional meetings after work. Without Victor even realizing it, her presence became constant. And one day, she was already living in their house.

That day began as usual. But a faint noise in the hallway pulled Victor out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw his seven-year-old daughter in the doorway. Normally she would burst into the room with laughter and questions, but now she stood still, slouched, staring stubbornly at the floor.

— Sweetheart… is everything okay? — Victor immediately noticed something was wrong.

She lifted her eyes, and his heart sank: red eyelids, traces of tears. The girl bit her lip and whispered:

— Dad, can I talk to you?..

Victor patted the sofa beside him. His daughter slowly walked over and sat down, keeping an unusual distance. Her small fingers fidgeted with the hem of her dress, her voice trembled:

— I don’t know how to say it… it’s about her…

— About who? — Victor frowned.

— About the lady… — the girl squeezed her eyes shut, and tears rolled down her cheeks again. — Dad, please, don’t leave me with her. She does bad things. I’m scared…

The words stuck in Victor’s throat. He gently embraced his daughter, trying to speak calmly:

— What does she do, sweetheart? Tell me everything. I’m here. Maybe she’s just playing?

The girl sobbed:

— It’s not a game. I’m really scared. Please believe me. She said that if you ever find out, something bad will happen to me.

— I believe you, my darling, — said the concerned father, determined to find out the truth.

The next day he decided to check everything himself. Hiding in the closet, Victor held his breath and waited. And suddenly he saw something terrible  His daughter had not lied. To be continued in the first comment 

When the new “mom” entered the girl’s room, he heard her harsh voice and saw her roughly grab the girl by the arm, forcing her to scrub the floor. The child’s tears and pleas for mercy only provoked new outbursts of rage.

— It would’ve been better if you had never been born. If you ever do this again, your father and I will put you in an orphanage.

Victor froze in horror. But that moment was enough for him to understand: he would never allow this again.

He stepped out of the closet and said in a firm voice:

— Pack your things. Right now.

The woman tried to defend herself, but Victor was unyielding. That day he threw her out of the house forever.
