Our hearts are heavy as we share the sad news about Joe Biden

The nation is in mourning following the passing of former President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who died peacefully at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, surrounded by family. The 46th President of the United States, who served from 2021 to 2025, was 81 years old.

The cause of death has not been immediately disclosed, though sources close to the family cited natural causes following a long, full life of public service.

Biden, a defining political figure for over half a century, leaves behind a legacy as one of America’s most enduring and empathetic leaders.

From his early days as a U.S. Senator from Delaware to his tenure as Vice President under Barack Obama and ultimately as

President, Biden was known for his resilience, compassion, and ability to connect with everyday Americans. His presidency navigated the nation through the COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery, and a renewed focus on infrastructure and climate policy.

Tributes poured in from across the political spectrum, with former colleagues, world leaders, and citizens honoring his lifetime of dedication to the country

. “Joe Biden was a man of deep faith, unwavering principle, and profound kindness,” said former President Obama in a statement.

“He believed in the promise of America until his last breath.” Current President [Name] ordered flags to be flown at half-staff, calling Biden “a steady hand in turbulent times and a friend to all who sought a fairer, more just union.”

Beyond politics, Biden’s personal story of overcoming tragedy—including the deaths of his first wife, Neilia, and daughter Naomi in a 1972 car accident, and later his son Beau to cancer in 2015—resonated with millions. His devotion to family, particularly his wife,

Dr. Jill Biden, and his children and grandchildren, became a hallmark of his public image. In his memoir, he often reflected on grief and perseverance, once writing, “The purpose of life is to find purpose in life—and to leave things better than you found them.”

Funeral arrangements will include a national memorial service in Washington, D.C., followed by a private burial in Delaware.

As the country reflects on Biden’s impact, his words at his final White House Christmas address seem especially poignant:

“Hold your loved ones close. Believe in the good this country can do. And never, ever give up on hope.” The loss marks the end of an era, but his vision.
