Alexis Brett, from the Scottish city of Aberdeen, has long become used to constant noise, loud laughter, toy-related arguments, and endless laundry.
She wakes up every day at 5:30 AM just to get a head start before the inevitable chaos begins when the children wake up. And she has — no more, no less — eleven children. All of them, except the youngest, are boys.
Alexis used to work as a nurse at the local hospital. She loved her job, but as baby after baby arrived, she had to take maternity leave, which eventually became permanent.
For sixteen years, she barely knew silence or solitude — her life revolved around diapers, school meetings, cooking, and cleaning.
Despite the exhaustion and sleepless nights, Alexis tried to stay optimistic. There were days when she just wanted to lock herself in the bathroom and sit quietly for a few minutes.
But all of it was worth it when she saw her sons’ smiles, felt their hugs, and listened to their excited stories about their day.
Still, deep inside, she had one dream — to have a daughter. After her tenth son, she had nearly given up hope, but a miracle happened.
At the age of 39, Alexis gave birth to her long-awaited daughter. She and her husband were over the moon — their little princess had finally arrived.
Now that the dream has come true, the couple made their final decision: no more children.
